Thursday Bucks Notes
- Alex Boeder notes that Michael Redd took a nasty spill during a Team USA practice but walked away unhurt.
- Shaq is in China doing some promotional stuff for his Chinese shoe sponsor, but took a moment for some nondescript positive commentary on Yi Jianlian:
"The other kid (Yi Jianlian) is also impressive, I know he can shoot, dunk and spin. I am sure he will make his place in the league.
"I am happy to see more and more Chinese players coming up - it is very good for the league as a whole."
- Croatia beat Finland 103-68 in a Euro Championships tuneup, with the Damir Markota Experience contributing 6 points.
- Dan Makowski provides a rundown on Yi's performance in the Stankovic Cup. Makowski is a recent UWM grad living in China who has now written two reports for Bucks.com. Note that the math is incorrect on Yi's ppg numbers--he scored 92 points in 5 games, or 18.4 ppg, not 20.4 ppg.
- Bob Wolfley reports that the other NBA rookies don't know anything about Yi Jianlian.
